With this tool you can unlock DLCs for your legit game. Some DLCs require additional files. You won't be able to download them through Origin/EA app/Steam (unless you actually buy them), you need to use the links below!

EA DLC Unlocker v2

(Windows & Linux; Origin and EA app)

Download

Installation instructions:

  1. Download and extract EA DLC Unlocker.
  2. Run setup.bat. (Special note for Sims players since I'm tired of hearing "but how do I run the setup.bat file?" - the same way you run any program or game on your PC - by double clicking on it. It may be displayed as just setup.)
  3. Select "Install" to install the Unlocker. The script automatically detects if you have EA app or Origin installed. If you have both it will detect EA app only and game started from Origin won't have the DLCs unlocked! If this happens reinstall Origin and run the script again or use the manual installation instructions in the readme file.
  4. Select "Add/Update game config" and select the game.
  5. Download DLC files if needed - see the links below. (Special note for Sims players - YES, you need the DLC files. DLC Unlocker doesn't download anything.)

If your DLCs suddenly stop working - it's because EA app updated and removed the DLC Unlocker. So simply install it again.

On Linux the only difference is that you run setup_linux.sh (try double clicking on it - if that doesn't work run it from the terminal) and if you have multiple wine/proton prefixes with EA app installed - you select which one to use. Then you get the same menu as on Windows, so follow the instructions above from the second step forwards.

Uninstallation instructions:

  1. Run setup.bat.
  2. Select "Uninstall".

Updates and new DLCs:

When a game gets a new DLC check if I added it to the Unlocker. There's a changelog in the second post of CS RIN thread. If it's a DLC for The Sims 4 then the game config should automatically update when you restart Origin/EA app. If it doesn't update, or if it's a DLC for a different game - redownload the Unlocker and add the game config again. You can enable/disable automatic config updates in config.ini file.

No matter what game it is for - check if you need to download the DLC files. For The Sims 4 each Pack and Kit requires DLC files.

When a game gets a new update - just update it. No need to touch the Unlocker.
When Origin gets a new update - just update it. No need to touch the Unlocker.
When EA app gets a new update - update it and install the Unlocker again.

Huge thanks to acidicoala for help with the Unlocker!
Check the readme file for the manual installation instructions.
For games on Steam - if it says "Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA online activation and EA app software installation and background use required" on the Steam store page - this DLC Unlocker will work. If it doesn't say that - then it won't work.

EA DLC Unlocker for Mac

(Mac only; EA app only)

Download

Installation instructions:

  1. Download and extract the ZIP archive - use default extraction tool, extract by double clicking on the ZIP archive.
  2. Right/Control click on prepare DLC Unlockers and select "Open".
  3. If you get the "Apple can't check app for malicious software" error follow these instructions (System Settings > Privacy & Security > Security > Open > Open Anyway).
  4. Download DLC files if needed - see the links above. (Special note for Sims players - YES, you need the DLC files. DLC Unlocker doesn't download anything.)

This should create a DLC Unlocker app for each supported game.

Important note: Unlike other DLC Unlockers you need to run this one every time you want to play.

Usage instructions:

  1. Run one of the DLC Unlockers.
  2. Run the EA app (click OK on error about port 3216).
  3. Run the game.

Uninstallation instructions:

Just delete the DLC Unlocker apps, that's it.

Updates and new DLCs:

EA app and game updates have no effect on this DLC Unlocker.
When we get a new DLC - DLC Unlocker should update the game config and inform you about it. If it doesn't - redownload the DLC Unlocker.
If the new DLC is still not unlocked - it's probably not out yet.
If you're 100% sure the DLC is out but it doesn't work even after redownloading the DLC Unlocker - you're probably missing the DLC files.

Origin DLC Unlocker v1

(Windows & Mac; Origin only)

Older version of the Unlocker.

2024-09-08 edit: I don't know if anyone still uses Origin. I'll see if anyone complains about the new DLC not being unlocked after the next one is out.

Download

Installation instructions:

  1. Download and extract Origin DLC Unlocker.
  2. Exit/Quit Origin. Closing the window is not the same.
  3. Run fix OriginClient.command (Mac)/fix libeay32.bat (Windows). (Special note for Sims players - just double click on it...)
(Mac) If you get an error stating the file comes from an unidentified developer - right click that file and select "Open".
(Mac) If you get an error stating you don't have appropriate access priviliges - make the script file executable.
  4. Run add fake entitlements.command (Mac)/add fake entitlements.bat (Windows) and do what it says.
  5. Download DLC files if needed - see the links above. (Special note for Sims players - YES, you need the DLC files. DLC Unlocker doesn't download anything.)

Uninstallation instructions:

  2. Redownload Origin app (Mac)/reinstall Origin (Windows).

When a game gets a new update - just update it. No need to touch the Unlocker.
When Origin gets a new update - update it and repeat step 2.
